Exciting Times ! 'Patchings' is upon us

Well watch this space folks for some unfolding fun!

I am very excited to be busy as a bee over the summer months with my art practice.

Firstly I have been working closely lately with Calder Art Supplies in Huddersfield (Why can I not say Huddersfield without using a very broad yorkshire accent )

On the 16th of June I demonstrated for them all day using the amazing new artists grade colour pencils by Derwent Pencils

It was lovely to meet some new people , to sit and chat about art, expectations and just pass the time of day . I left feeling very chilled out .

Yesterday I returned to Calder Art Supplies to meet with the lovely Sandra Manchester who filmed me painting in a much more loose style with the 'Inktense Travel Pan Set' by Derwent .

This is just what I will be showing at Patchings Art Fayre this year where I will be in the Derwent Tent providing lots of information and visual demonstrations. I will be using the travel pan set to show how to improve your drawing skills and your general wellbeing by keeping a sketching/mindfulness journal.

I am really excited about this as it is so much 'up my street' more and more I realise that ,for me ,sketching is a form of meditation. It is 'focused attention ' and when we are doing it we can only really be in the 'here and now' . More about this to follow .

Why not come along to Patchings and find out more https://www.patchingsartcentre.co.uk/patchings-festival/
